So, everyone has been asking about how to make t-shirts (design shirts) using freezer paper... here is the how-to! Gather your supplies: plain t-shirt Reynolds' Freezer Paper , cut to size (for example, 12" by 12" if working with the Cricut Expression) iron ironing board cardboard fabric paint Cricut & Gypsy / Design Studio (or some other way to create you desired design on your shirt) Step-by-step: Create you desired design. Using the Gypsy or Design Studio program, lay your desired design out on the "mat". When you have it sized just right, use the flip design feature (the design needs to be cut backward, especially if it contains words, to appear properly on the shirt). <-- I also center mine to give me a good border around the actual design. Place your freezer paper shiny side up (there is a shiny side & a matte side to the freezer paper). On the Cricut Expression, set the speed to 3 and the pressure to 3 (I never change my blade dep...

Hello Everyone! Thank you all so much for your support in my quest (click this link to enter to win a cricut cartridge & learn all about the many ways to help me in my quest  here ) My daughter & I are making shirts again {check out her first shirt here }. Next Friday, she can wear a Detroit Tigers shirt to school, but she doesn't have one... That to me was an excellent excuse to pull out the freezer paper, the Gypsy, the Cricut Expression, and the iron! The Detroit Tigers have a few symbols including the Old English "D". The capital D from the Blackletter cartridge is just perfect! We have homework tonight, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see her finished product. {Remember: commenting on this post is another entry to win the cartridge!}

I saw a YouTube video where the crafter was using her Cricut & Reynolds Freezer Paper to make a t-shirt. I had heard about this, but hadn't tried it. So, with a few days off ahead of us, I got with my daughter and picked out a sentiment from my new Rock Princess Cricut cartridge . She chose "Too Hot 2 Handle" and if you know her, you know that this sentiment is too true LOL! We looked at the video one more time to make sure we knew what we were doing & headed upstairs to the ironing board. Once the outer ouline was in place on the shirt, I used the actual sentiment cut out to help line up all the little pieces (the inner pieces of the Os, space s in the flames, etc.) but made sure not to iron it on. My daughter was ready to paint before we even had the design on good. She first painted the entire sentiment in orange and went back after it dried to add the red accents.
