It's Wedding Season!

Image
So, in between my design team duties & my other two jobs - I usually claim four jobs, but my daughter is away with family for the summer, so I have 2 months off of job #1 :) - I also have orders to fill and greeting cards to make. Three of my friends are getting married in August & two of them ordered items from me for their special day (for the special envelopes I made, click here). The numbers you see here will be the table numbers at the reception for the wedding I'm attending this weekend. The numbers are cut from the Songbird cartridge and will "float" above the centerpieces on the table. A fourth friend is doing a destination wedding and sought my services for her reception invitations. The picture here is the original sample. I will post the finalized design when it is all done. As I work on all greeting cards & gifts, I'll post those too! Thanks for stopping by!

I'm Going Krazy! LOL!

I finished my second creation for Tangee over at Kricut Krazy . I made a 5.75 by 5.25 card from the Cricut Zooballoo cartridge. The card was pretty simple & I like how it all came together. Again, I changed the colors from what they used in the handbook, but I think the purple & green design is so cute! I also chose to use a "5" instead of a "4" (most of the kiddies I know are approaching 5, so I'll be able to use this card in the next few months for a birthday). The instructions tell you to cut the frame in, both, black & white and then mix and match the pieces for the effect shown - I chose to cut the frame in white & cut the shadow of the frame in black to give me some overlap to help me assemble the frame better. I really enjoyed tracing around the diecuts. I had never thought to do that & was a little apprehensive about doing it on this card, but I ended up loving the effect on the card. Two down, two to go... Stay tuned!

I have the honor and privilege to help a friend out on her blog & I am so excited! Her goal is to create the sample projects for each of the Cricut cartridges. She owns a bunch of them, but is still missing a few & that is where the special guest designers come in. We get to help her achieve her goal by filling in the gaps. The first project I am doing for her is this "Tweetheart Card" from the Straight From The Nest cartridge. The booklet calls for a series of green, cream, pink, & yellow papers and ribbons... well, those aren't really my favorite colors, so I decided to work with what I had and went with black, white, and silver. The project was actually very easy to do and the instructions were very straight forward. I used my Fiskars Rotary Cutter and my Martha Stewart Score Board to make sure all the pieces were properly measured and scored. I also used my ColorBox Cat's Eye pigment ink in black to ink the edges of my paper pieces (I used paper inste...

Birthday Card for a Friend's Friend

Image
A friend asked me to make a couple of cards for her. This one was a birthday card (from a Delta to an AKA - LOL - hence the pink, green, red & white). I used a tip from Capadia Designs in my Design Studio software to get the effect. I like how it came out!

What I've Been Up To - Before & After Vacation

Image
I visited my aunts in Louisiana and forgot to bring pictures of my daughter. Since I am going to be mailing them now, I decided to frame them and send them. But, I couldn't just put them in any old frame, now could I? So I decorated the frame & used it as an opportunity to play with my new bling tool! Yay! I created assorted thank you cards for my co-workers who helped me with training our new volunteers.
