Diamond Ring Card

Image
My cousin commissioned me to make a birthday card for her spiritual mother. Her prerequisites were to include fuchsia, lime green, and a diamond ring... I said ok. I pulled out my Gypsy to search for a diamond ring & found one on the Sweethearts cartridge. I decided to make the entire card in the shape of the diamond ring - easier said than done. I found a circle card on the Wild Card cartridge and decided to add the diamond ring to the front of it. This helped the card base be a little more sturdy. I didn't think the ring had enough "bling" to it... can't be a diamond ring without the bling! So I pulled out some Joann's Holiday Inspiration gold ribbon, some Core'dinations silver cardstock, some hotfix rhinestones & my hotfix applicator and blinged it out! I adhered the blingy ring to the front of the card ~ But there still seemed to be a little something missing... I added "For You" from my Sentimantals cartridge ~ My cousin l...

Super Bowl Sunday Challenge: Be Mine Card

Image
Christel over at One Scrappin' Sista issued a Super Bowl Sunday Challenge & I decided to jump in. The challenge was to create a project either about the Super Bowl or using the colors of the teams... well, in honor of my beloved Troy Polamalu , I chose to use the black & yellow of the Steelers to create a Valentine's themed card. The finished card measures 6.5" by 5". I used patterned paper from DCWV Extreme Paper Stack, Core'dinations Gemstones cardstock in Citrine & Pearl, Bazzill Bling in Celebrity, and ribbon from my stash. I inked the edges of the patterned paper & the card mat with Studio G Chalks  in Gold. I used my Sentimentals & Designer's Calendar Cricut cartridges for the die cuts. And with the help of 3D Zots , I gave the card a little pop. This was a fun challenge... oh, and Go Pittsburgh Packers... LOL!

October Swaps

Image
I participted in 2 card swaps this month & all my cards went postal (were mailed out) today. For the swap on the CricutScrapLifters Yahoo! Group swap, I made a "Best Wishes" card & a winter-themed card. In addition to using my Cricut cartridges, I also used my border punches & my newest Martha Stewart Punch-Around-the-Page set, Double Loop. The other swap was over at Scraps of Color. This month's theme was Thank You. I opted to use my Cricut & my Martha Stewart Deep Edge punch for my design & two of my favorite colors - orange & blue. I came across some cute, clearanced accents at Michael's Arts & Crafts & added them to the front of the card, along with some ribbon. Inside, the writing area is actually a tag. I was able to use my Graphically Speaking, Lyrical Letters, & Sentimentals Cricut cartridges on these projects - my personal challenge goes on :)

Condolences Card - Very Special

Image
I was contacted by a customer to make a card for a co-worker whose baby (full-term) was delivered stillborn... I was reminded about the preciousness of life & the gifts God gives us by allowing our lives to be touched by others. I found the wording I used for the inside of the card at  myforeverchild.com  & used my Cricut Design Studio software to create the card. (Inside of card is personalized & not posted here.)
