Happy February: Angie's Paper Passion's 50th Birthday Blog Hop

Image
This has been a craft filled month! For the third time this month, I am in a blog hop! This time to celebrate BIRTHDAYS! Since, I celebrated my own birthday last weekend, I thought this was a great hop to be a part of... and Angie, a friend from the Cricut Demo Army, is celebrating her 50th birthday, so I had to join in! Happy Birthday Angie! If you are here for Angie's Paper Passion's 50th Birthday Blog Hop and you have just come from visiting Janice at http://www.cricutconfessions.com/ , then you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our fun hop, you can go to http://angiespaperpassion.blogspot.com/ and start at the beginning. On to my project... For this hop, I created a card. I used my Cricut Expression & my Gypsy along with the Heritage (50th), New Arrival (card base), & Cake Basics (flowers and circle ring) cartridges. I went to my stash and found patterned paper by Martha Stewart an

Fun Times with My Mini Me

I saw a YouTube video where the crafter was using her Cricut & Reynolds Freezer Paper to make a t-shirt. I had heard about this, but hadn't tried it. So, with a few days off ahead of us, I got with my daughter and picked out a sentiment from my new Rock Princess Cricut cartridge . She chose "Too Hot 2 Handle" and if you know her, you know that this sentiment is too true LOL! We looked at the video one more time to make sure we knew what we were doing & headed upstairs to the ironing board. Once the outer ouline was in place on the shirt, I used the actual sentiment cut out to help line up all the little pieces (the inner pieces of the Os, space s in the flames, etc.) but made sure not to iron it on. My daughter was ready to paint before we even had the design on good. She first painted the entire sentiment in orange and went back after it dried to add the red accents. This one came out so well, we will be making a few more for friends & family. I'll

... My Birthday!!! Happy February is still going strong! This card is for a great friend of mine who is celebrating tomorrow. I found the patterned paper at Michael's on clearance a few months ago. It is "Malibu" by me & my BiG ideas. The finished card measures 5" by 6.25". More to come!

This is the hop for the first quarter of 2011 and we are glad you decided to join us! We have 13 designers working on our theme for this hop, which is none other than Valentine's Day. We've put a twist on it, asking the designers to use the colors red, black, and white in their designs. We can't wait to show you what we've come up with! Some of the Sistas went the traditional route and used traditional colors for their projects. What would craftin' be without creativity and diversity?! We know you'll enjoy what lies ahead on the hop route!! Remember, start at the beginning of the hop and work your way through each blog. Please leave blog love (comments) along the way and become a follower of the blogs so that you can see the beautiful creations year round and not just when we have a hop! Happy February: Birthday Star Card

Image
This card is fairly simple & I love the way the colors flow together. I think I will give this one to my birthday buddy at work. I used the ColorBok stack from Walmart again for this one & my Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punch to add a little something more to this simple card! And the Happy Birthday with the Star is cut from the Calligraphy Collection cartridge. Two down... many more to go! Stay tuned!

Super Bowl Sunday Challenge: Be Mine Card

Image
Christel over at One Scrappin' Sista issued a Super Bowl Sunday Challenge & I decided to jump in. The challenge was to create a project either about the Super Bowl or using the colors of the teams... well, in honor of my beloved Troy Polamalu , I chose to use the black & yellow of the Steelers to create a Valentine's themed card. The finished card measures 6.5" by 5". I used patterned paper from DCWV Extreme Paper Stack, Core'dinations Gemstones cardstock in Citrine & Pearl, Bazzill Bling in Celebrity, and ribbon from my stash. I inked the edges of the patterned paper & the card mat with Studio G Chalks  in Gold. I used my Sentimentals & Designer's Calendar Cricut cartridges for the die cuts. And with the help of 3D Zots , I gave the card a little pop. This was a fun challenge... oh, and Go Pittsburgh Packers... LOL!

Happy February: Flamingo Birthday Card

Image
Happy February! As promised, I cranked out a few birthday cards & will be posting them throughout the month. This one is on it's way to sunny California to one of my bestest friends - shh! don't tell her! I decided to cut all my birthday sayings out of cream, blue, burnt orange, & black metallic papers ( DCWV Shimmer Stack & Colorbok stack from Walmart). After I had everything set up in my Gypsy, I mixed it up a little to see what combos I came up with... for the Flamingo Card above, the cut came out in blue & cream. The flamingo & happy birthday is one cut from the Life's a Beach cartridge. The finished card measures 5"x6.5" and the patterned paper is from a Colorbok stack from Walmart. So simple & so cute!

Snow Day & Happy February

Image
So, I am snowed in today :-D I am so happy! I am being very productive & having a good old fashioned laid back kind of day. So far I have tackled the laundry and... ... Started my birthday month celebration! And what better way to celebrate than to start making birthday cards! For February to be the shortest month, there sure are a lot of birthdays to celebrate this month. In line with my personal cricut cartridge challenge, I whipped out my Gypsy & cut a bunch of "Happy Birthdays" from all the different cartridges I have with those sentiments on them. I will be making & posting cards throughout the month & getting them to my February birthday buddies! And just because I always have so much free time LOL I am also in two Valentine's Day hops & an altered container/mini album swap - so stay tuned for many projects this month!
