Only 2 Followers to Go & More!

I only need two more followers to reach my 125 follower goal... who will they be???

When I reach my goal, I will use to choose the lucky follower who will win a bit of special blog candy!!!

I will begin my drive for 250 followers immediately after I hit that milestone - and one of my faithful followers will win a Cricut cartridge!

Thank you all for your support!

I just shipped off my altered canister & mini album for a swap over on the Cricut messageboard (love those ladies & gent). I am proud of myself - I am not a scrapper, so this was interesting for me - for getting it done & getting it out on time. I hope that my swap partner loves it... and all the goodies that come with it!!

Here's a peek at it ~

Happy February: Angie's Paper Passion's 50th Birthday Blog Hop

This has been a craft filled month! For the third time this month, I am in a blog hop! This time to celebrate BIRTHDAYS! Since, I celebrated my own birthday last weekend, I thought this was a great hop to be a part of... and Angie, a friend from the Cricut Demo Army, is celebrating her 50th birthday, so I had to join in!

Happy Birthday Angie!

If you are here for Angie's Paper Passion's 50th Birthday Blog Hop and you have just come from visiting Janice at, then you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our fun hop, you can go to and start at the beginning.

On to my project...

For this hop, I created a card. I used my Cricut Expression & my Gypsy along with the Heritage (50th), New Arrival (card base), & Cake Basics (flowers and circle ring) cartridges. I went to my stash and found patterned paper by Martha Stewart and cardstock by Bazzill (Bling Sunset), American Crafts, and Recollections.

I hope you enjoyed my project & will become a follower of my blog.
Thanks for stopping by & don't forget to check out the rest of the stops on the hop ~

Fun Times with My Mini Me

I saw a YouTube video where the crafter was using her Cricut & Reynolds Freezer Paper to make a t-shirt. I had heard about this, but hadn't tried it. So, with a few days off ahead of us, I got with my daughter and picked out a sentiment from my new Rock Princess Cricut cartridge. She chose "Too Hot 2 Handle" and if you know her, you know that this sentiment is too true LOL!

We looked at the video one more time to make sure we knew what we were doing & headed upstairs to the ironing board. Once the outer ouline was in place on the shirt, I used the actual sentiment cut out to help line up all the little pieces (the inner pieces of the Os, space s in the flames, etc.) but made sure not to iron it on. My daughter was ready to paint before we even had the design on good. She first painted the entire sentiment in orange and went back after it dried to add the red accents.

This one came out so well, we will be making a few more for friends & family. I'll be sure to post them when we're done!

Happy February Continues!

My 20-11th birthday has come & gone and it was a great day! I am so thankful for all the calls, texts, tweets, Facebook messages, and more that I greceived and I am indeed in a Happy February type of mood.

All that being said, February is not over! Stay tuned for more projects, swaps, and another blog hop - February 26, 2011!

Happy February is still going strong! This card is for a great friend of mine who is celebrating tomorrow.

I found the patterned paper at Michael's on clearance a few months ago. It is "Malibu" by me & my BiG ideas.

Happy Valentine's Day! ... and the Winner is...

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I pray that this day & everyday is filled with love!

I am celebrating the day at my desk and reflecting on those I love & who love/have loved me...

Thank you to all of those who stopped by over the weekend for the two blog hops I participated in! If you haven't had a chance to check out the postings from the hop, please take time to do so - these ladies rocked out their projects and created a lot of inspiration for you to scraplift.

A special welcome to the 20 new followers I picked up along the way!!! I am that much closer to my goal of 125 followers, but I am not quite there... I'm guessing my blog candy wasn't sweet enough LOL! (Guess, I'll have to do something about that - stay tuned!)

Without further ado... the winner of the sweet blog candy prize pack of acrylic stamps, a Cuttlebug embossing folder, dimensional stickers, a chipboard book, a card kit, metal embellishments, rub-ons, and more is...

JAZMIN said: "Just like Cassie said "Bling is a girl's best friend" and you did it very well. I also love the easel card... I'm going to start incorporating it in my cards... Keep up the good work... "

Congratulations! Please send me an email at mycraftz at aol dot com with your mailing address by 5pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.

I am still pursuing my 125 follower goal - any ideas how I can get there??? Great ideas are rewarded ;)

SST Valentine's Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sistas Scrap Too! second blog hop! We had so much fun with our first hop that we decided to do a hop once a quarter. This is the hop for the first quarter of 2011 and we are glad you decided to join us! We have 13 designers working on our theme for this hop, which is none other than Valentine's Day. We've put a twist on it, asking the designers to use the colors red, black, and white in their designs. We can't wait to show you what we've come up with! Some of the Sistas went the traditional route and used traditional colors for their projects. What would craftin' be without creativity and diversity?! We know you'll enjoy what lies ahead on the hop route!!

Remember, start at the beginning of the hop and work your way through each blog. Please leave blog love (comments) along the way and become a follower of the blogs so that you can see the beautiful creations year round and not just when we have a hop! There are Sistas who are offering blog candy and you never know where you'll find some so be sure to visit each participating blog. Thank you for joining us for our 2011 SST! Valentine's Day Blog Hop! We hope you enjoy the creativity...

For my project, I created my first ever easel card! I pulled out my bling & stencils for this one & whipped up some whimsical swirls to compliment the gold swirled paper ribbon. The rose patterned paper is from Colorbok (sold at Walmart). The metallic cardstock is from the Core'dinations Pearls stacks from Joann & the black cardstock is from The Paper Company. I went through my stash & found the mirrored "Love" sticker. The finished card measures 4.25' by 5.5".

Be sure to leave some love for a chance to win blog candy! I'm working on 125 followers & I need your help (sending friends equals more entries in the candy drawing)... How do you get this candy? Simply leave a comment on this post or yesterday's Craftin' Sistahs Blog Hop post AND become a follower! The candy drawing will be on Sunday, February 13th!

(if a friend sent you, be sure to let me know that too!)

I hope you enjoyed my project(s)! Here is the list of participating blogs. I've made them clickable to make it easier for you to follow along the hop route. Don't forget to stop by and visit everyone. Leave some blog love and enjoy!

Hop, Hop, Hoppin' to 125 Followers! (Blog Candy & a Challenge)

This weekend will be very busy for me. In addition to going to see my HUSBAND in concert & being a part of a panel for a conference at my undergraduate university, I will also be participating in TWO blog hops! I believe I will make it through & I know you all will be there to support me :)

The first hop is Friday, February 11th starting at 6am - my CRAFTIN' SISTAHS will be sharing the love with you all. So be sure to stop by on Friday to see what these wonderful ladies have whipped up for Valentine's Day.

The second hop is Saturday, February 12th starting at 6am - the members of the SST group over on the Cricut message board are at it again! I am sure the talented divas over there will amaze you with their red, black, & white creations... you don't want to miss it!

And what are blog hops without blog candy?!?! I am trying to reach my goal of 125 followers this weekend and I need your help. Share my challenge goal on your blog & leave a comment here letting me know you did it & you will be entered in a special random drawing for some super sweet blog candy! {You have until midnight Thursday, February 10th to post to your blog & comment here to be entered in the drawing.)

Be sure to let your readers know that if they follow my blog (helping me get to 125 followers) and leave a comment during either of the two blog hops they will have a chance to win some candy too! {They - you can enter here too - have until midnight on Sunday, February 13th to enter for this blog candy... and two hops equals two chances to win!}

Oh, I guess you want to know how sweet the candy really is, huh? Well, there's bling... embossing folders... card kits... stamps... and more!

And before I go: Jinger Adams from ProvoCraft has posted all the entries from the handmade card contest she hosted last month (see details here). Well, I mustered up the courage to enter & my entry is below.

Happy February: Birthday Star Card

This card is fairly simple & I love the way the colors flow together. I think I will give this one to my birthday buddy at work.

I used the ColorBok stack from Walmart again for this one & my Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punch to add a little something more to this simple card! And the Happy Birthday with the Star is cut from the Calligraphy Collection cartridge.

Two down... many more to go! Stay tuned!

Super Bowl Sunday Challenge: Be Mine Card

Christel over at One Scrappin' Sista issued a Super Bowl Sunday Challenge & I decided to jump in. The challenge was to create a project either about the Super Bowl or using the colors of the teams... well, in honor of my beloved Troy Polamalu, I chose to use the black & yellow of the Steelers to create a Valentine's themed card.

The finished card measures 6.5" by 5". I used patterned paper from DCWV Extreme Paper Stack, Core'dinations Gemstones cardstock in Citrine & Pearl, Bazzill Bling in Celebrity, and ribbon from my stash. I inked the edges of the patterned paper & the card mat with Studio G Chalks  in Gold. I used my Sentimentals & Designer's Calendar Cricut cartridges for the die cuts. And with the help of 3D Zots, I gave the card a little pop.

This was a fun challenge... oh, and Go Pittsburgh Packers... LOL!

Happy February: Flamingo Birthday Card

Happy February! As promised, I cranked out a few birthday cards & will be posting them throughout the month. This one is on it's way to sunny California to one of my bestest friends - shh! don't tell her!

I decided to cut all my birthday sayings out of cream, blue, burnt orange, & black metallic papers (DCWV Shimmer Stack & Colorbok stack from Walmart). After I had everything set up in my Gypsy, I mixed it up a little to see what combos I came up with... for the Flamingo Card above, the cut came out in blue & cream. The flamingo & happy birthday is one cut from the Life's a Beach cartridge. The finished card measures 5"x6.5" and the patterned paper is from a Colorbok stack from Walmart.

So simple & so cute!

Snow Day & Happy February

So, I am snowed in today :-D

I am so happy! I am being very productive & having a good old fashioned laid back kind of day. So far I have tackled the laundry and...

... Started my birthday month celebration! And what better way to celebrate than to start making birthday cards! For February to be the shortest month, there sure are a lot of birthdays to celebrate this month. In line with my personal cricut cartridge challenge, I whipped out my Gypsy & cut a bunch of "Happy Birthdays" from all the different cartridges I have with those sentiments on them. I will be making & posting cards throughout the month & getting them to my February birthday buddies!

And just because I always have so much free time LOL I am also in two Valentine's Day hops & an altered container/mini album swap - so stay tuned for many projects this month!
